Christopher George Latore Wallace nació el 21 de mayo 1972 y murió el 9 de marzo de 1997. Era conocido por Biggie Smalls (personaje de la película 'Vamos a hacerlo de nuevo ", lanzado en 1975), Big Poppa y El Negro Frank White (1990 personaje de la película, "Kings of New York ').

pero él era conocido principalmente como The Notorious BIG. Por mucho es considerado como uno de los mejores raperos de la historia.
Wallace fue criado por una madre soltera en Brooklyn, Nueva York. Desde muy joven se dio al micro tráfico de estupefacientes en Bedford-Stuyvesant, sin que su madre lo supiera, dejando a un lado el colegio para conseguir dinero. A los 17 años, dejó los estudios del todo y se dedico al nacotráfico y microtráfico en las calles de Brooklyn hasta que fue arrestado en 1989 por portar armas de fuego, por lo que le dieron una condena de 5 años con libertad condicional, aunque sin mucha suerte, fue detenido 12 meses después en el norte de California.
Desde niño tuvo un acercamiento puro con la música, sobre todo con el rap, a punto de ser padre y con sus problemas legales, cayo en la cuenta de que el rap era la única forma de liberarse de todas las cruces que le apremiaban, decidiendo así, empezar su carrera musical.
Cuando lanzó su primer álbum en 1994, "Ready to Die", Biggie se convirtió en una figura central en la escena Hip Hop de la costa este y aumento la visibilidad de Nueva York en un momento en que los raperos de la costa oeste estaban más presentes en la corriente principal. Durante la grabación de su segundo álbum, Biggie estaba muy involucrado con la guerra entre la costa este y la costa oeste.

Su muerte se dio el 9 de marzo del 97', luego de asistir a unos premios de música, los Soul Train Music Award en Peterson Automotive Museum ubicado en Wilshire, los ángeles.
También asistieron personajes del género como Busta Rhymes, Heavy D, Aaliyah, Da Brat, Puffy, Ice Cube, Jermaine Drupi entre otros.

Al terminar la fiesta, el rapero Biggie Smalls se retira en un automóvil GMC Suburban negro con algunos de su crew por las calles repletas de gente que también abandonan el evento. A unos 45 metros del museo, el auto se para a esperar la luz verde, mientras un Chevrolet Impala se hace justo al lado del coche, luego de bajar la ventanilla abren fuego y le dan en cuatro ocasiones a Biggie cerca del pecho. Muere en el Cedars Sinai Medical Center con tan sólo 24 años de edad.

Desde su muerte, sus letras se citan comúnmente por una variedad de artistas de Rap, Pop y R & B como Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Alicia Keys, Fat Joe, Nelly, Ja Rule, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Game, Clinton Sparks, Michael Jackson o Usher. Se hicieron varios homenajes al rapero en diversas ceremonias y siempre estará en nuestras mentes y corazones.
